Pen Pal Program

This page is a place for homeschool parents to connect with other homeschool parents whose children are interested in becoming pen pals. Pen pals can be a fun way to encourage writing, build friendships, and help kids connect with others who share similar interests, both locally and beyond. All connections here are parent to parent, and parents are responsible for managing communication and deciding what works best for their family.

We'd love to have you join the group, just click the group name above, answer the membership questions, and you'll be accepted ASAP.

To help keep this program active and positive for kids, we ask that families who connect through this page plan to send an initial response within about one month of receiving a letter. Listings may be removed periodically if there has been no response, but families are always welcome to rejoin when they’re ready.

How it works

Homeschool parents can submit a listing for their child by filling out the pen pal form below. All submissions are reviewed before being added to help keep the space safe, relevant, and active.

We are currently transitioning to a private matching system designed to create more intentional and compatible connections.

New Submissions

New entries are added to our private matching pool. We use the information provided, such as age, interests, and location, to pair children with compatible pen pals.

When a match is found, both families will receive an email with the other parent’s contact information so they can connect directly.

All information in this system is kept private and is not displayed publicly.

Existing Directory Listings

Some previously submitted listings may still appear in the public directory. Parents are welcome to browse and reach out directly using the contact information provided.

Our Goal

We are moving toward a fully private, match-based system to provide safer, more meaningful connections without requiring families to search through listings themselves.
